About Diet And Exercise

A diet is a calorie restricted way of eating for a specific amount of time for the purpose of losing weight quickly to look incredible. A lifestyle is embracing a sensible way of living that includes nutritious foods, stress management and exercise strategy for better overall health.

I’ll bet that mention of the word “exercise” or “working out” makes you cringe, right? You’re picturing hours at the gym, sweating on a treadmill, lifting weights next to people who appear to be professionals. You have to exercise in order to stay healthy. Pick an activity that you like or motivates you.

Personally, I love cycling, which I do with my husband every weekend during the season, supplemented with spin class and gym time during the week. I enjoy it because I can “fly” on ground level, it allows me to spend quality, if sweaty, time with my husband, and of course, I love burning those calories!

Exercise should be approached with caution, however, especially if you’re out of practice, so do not try to cycle 60 miles your first time out on the road or lift a 100 pound iron when back at the gym. You can start building long term physical activity habits with a few simple steps and a lot of patience.
